The Coalition Government has a social mobility strategy that seeks to ensure that everyone has a fair chance get a better job than their parents. It also has a child poverty strategy that seeks to break the vicious cycle of deprivation.
The facts:
- children in workless families have a 58% risk of poverty
- almost a third of all children in inner London are in workless households
- more than a third of all ethnic minority families live in poverty
By helping people who are disadvantaged overcome their circumstances so that they get into employment, or training that they will lead to employment, LEAP has been improving the life chances of poor adults and their children for almost 20 years. We have credibility, experience, track record and capacity to successfully engage those in need and to assist them to forge a brighter future for themselves.
